On 23 and 24 March in Haro, La Rioja (Spain), the Government of La Rioja, the Government of Spain and the World Tourism Organization will hold a Think Tank on Talent in Wine Tourism, as a preliminary event to the 7th UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism Conference which will take place in November 2023 in La Rioja.
The meeting will be a two-day workshop and debate in which representatives from wine regions around the world and national and international experts will discuss the current situation of training in wine tourism, as well as the demand and prospects for the future of the industry.
The main goal is to study the possibilities offered by the implementation of a high-level international wine tourism training programme and, in addition, to examine the key issues that will be the focus of the next UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism Conference.
Enorregión, driven by the Government of La Rioja with the support of the Government of Spain, aims to promote a sustainable and digital transformation of the entire wine value chain, in the vineyard, the winery and the on-trade channel, covering the winemaking, distribution and marketing processes.
To achieve these goals, it implements three main lines of action: the modernisation of the wine industry, the generation of knowledge through R&D&I and its transfer, and the promotion of smart and sustainable wine tourism. In this last area, the Enorregión project seeks to make the most of Rioja's wine-growing heritage to create an innovative, digital and sustainable tourism offering.
The celebration of the Think Tank on Talent in Wine Tourism and the 7th UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism are a commitment to the generation of knowledge as the key to the development of the wine sector and, in particular, to the building for the future of wine tourism industry.
